SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will aim for their third consecutive win and a series sweep when they take on the Reading Phillies in the finale of a three-game series at The Diamond today. On Sunday night, Chris Gloor pitched six strong innings and Johnny Monell went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs as the Flying Squirrels defeated the R-Phils 7-2 in game two of the series. Gloor (2-1) earned the win by limiting Reading to five hits and one earned run in six innings pitched. It was the longest outing of the season for Gloor, who made his third start after making 19 appearances out of the bullpen. Reading starter Jordan Whatcott (1-3), who allowed six hits and three earned runs in five innings pitched, was charged with the loss. Daryl Maday yielded two hits and one earned run in three innings of work and the right-hander picked up his eighth save of the season.

The Flying Squirrels went 5-5 against Reading in 2011 including a 2-1 mark at The Diamond. Richmond is 18-24 all-time against the R-Phils and the club is 9-6 all-time in the River City. The two teams will meet 16 times in 2012, 7 times in Reading and 9 times in Richmond. The R-Phils claimed the opening series by winning two out of three games between the clubs at The Diamond last week (4/16-4/18). Reading also took two out of three from Richmond at FirstEnergy Stadium (4/24-4/26) and three out of four in Reading (6/26-6/29). Following this series, the two teams will meet again for a three-game set in the River City (7/31-8/2).

TODAY'S PITCHERS: RHP Craig Westcott vs. RHP Austin Hyatt Westcott: Makes his eighteenth start of the season for the Flying Squirrels today. In his last start, Westcott allowed seven hits and three earned runs along with three walks and three strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched against Binghamton on Independence Day.

He earned his seventh win of the season in Richmond's 9-4 triumph. Tonight's game will be Westcott's fourth career start against Reading. He is 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA against the R-Phils. After splitting the 2010 season between Advanced-A San Jose and Richmond, Westcott spent the entire 2011 campaign back in San Jose. Westcott enjoyed a banner year in the California League as he posted a 13-4 record with a 3.42 ERA in 25 appearances, including 24 starts. His 13 wins tied for the most in the Cal League and he finished fourth in the circuit in ERA (3.42).

As a result, Westcott was named both a Mid-Season and Postseason All-Star. He was alsoa Mid-Season All-Star in the Cal League in 2010 after going 6-0 with a miniscule 1.83 ERA in 13 starts with San Jose before beingpromoted to Richmond.

Westcott did not enjoy the same level of success with the Flying Squirrels however, as he compiled a 3-3 mark with a 5.13 ERA in the second half of the season.

He owns a record of 36-13 with a 3.46 ERA in 82 career minor league appearances, including 74 starts.

The Chalmette, LA native was selected by the Giants in the 30th round of the 2009 June Draft out of Belhaven (MS) College.

Hyatt: Makes his eighteenth start of the season and his eighth for Reading today. Hyatt opened the season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he posted a 2-6 mark with a 5.47 ERA in ten starts. Since being transferred to Reading, Hyatt has compiled a 2-2 record with a 6.93 ERA in seven starts. The right-hander spent the entire 2011 campaign with Reading, where he posted a 12-6 record with a 3.85 ERA in 28 starts. Tonight's game will be his fourth career start against the Flying Squirrels. He is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA against Richmond. Hyatt boasts a career record of 31-19 with six saves and a 3.62 ERA in 90 appearances, including 76 starts. He was selected by Philadelphia in the 15th round of the 2009 June Draft out of the University of Alabama.

HERE'S JOHNNY: Johnny Monell enjoyed a big night at the plate in Sunday's win over Reading. The Flying Squirrels catcher went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs. It was Monell's fifth multi-RBI game of the season as he has split time at catcher with Tommy Joseph. Monell is batting .375 (6-for-16) with three home runs, a double and seven RBIs in his last six games (6/29-7/8).

EXCELLENT EHIRE: Richmond shortstop Ehire Adrianza went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run and an RBI in Sunday's win over Reading. It was Adrianza's third three-hit game of the season and the switch-hitting shortstop is now batting .317 (13-for-41) with two home runs, five RBIs and nine runs scored in his last 10 games.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: Gary Brown continues to produce at the plate. After going 2-for-5 with two runs scored last night, Brown, who recently had a team-high 12-game hitting streak, has now hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games. He has reached base in 25 consecutive games, the longest on-base streak for a Flying Squirrel batter in 2012. During this stretch, Brown is batting .398 (37-for-93) with two home runs, a triple, twelve doubles, 11 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Additionally, he is 6-for-8 in stolen base attempts during this period and has raised his overall average from .236 on June 15 to .278 as of today. With two hits last night, Brown now has 31 multi-hit games this season, a team-high for Richmond.
