LANSING, Mich. - Kevin Patterson blasted two home runs and drove in six for the victorious Lansing Lugnuts (8-7, 55-29) who downed the Great Lakes Loons (6-9, 40-45) in a 15-2 win at Cooley Law School Stadium on Friday night.

(A previous version of this email said the final score was 15-1.)

The Lugnuts pounced early against Loons starter Gustavo Gomez (Loss, 5-7) with eight runs in the first inning, fueled by a two-run triple from Chris Hawkins (4-for-4, two runs, three RBI, two walks) and the first of two three-run bombs from Patterson.

Andy Fermin tacked on a run in the fourth with an RBI triple, part of a 3-for-4 day including a run scored.

Patterson smashed his second three-run blast in the seventh inning with a towering fly ball that reached the street beyond the right field patio area.

Lansing starter Aaron Sanchez (Win, 8-0) was allowed to work into the 6th inning for the first time in his career. Sanchez recorded two outs in the fifth to set a new career high but left with the bases loaded after issuing three sixth-inning walks. The right-hander tied a career-high with eight strikeouts, allowing just one run, one hit and four walks.

Kramer Champlin (Save, 1) tossed 3 1/3 innings out of the bullpen and allowed just one run, striking out three and walking none.

The Lugnuts head on the road for a trio of games against the West Michigan Whitecaps starting on Saturday, July 7th at 7:00 p.m. David Rollins (5-1, 2.97) will start for Lansing; Wilsen Palacios (9-5, 3.24) will start for West Michigan.

The Lugs return home on Wednesday, July 12th, opening a six-game homestand on Jackson Field. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
