
Storm Chasers to Host the 20th Anniversary Sandlot Tour

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers present the initial showing of The 20th Anniversary Sandlot Tour at Werner Park on August 10th. David Mickey Evans, the writer, director, and voice of the film The Sandlot will be hosting the first in a year-long series of screenings at baseball stadiums across the country.
"We are ecstatic to host the kickoff of the 20th Anniversary Sandlot Tour here at Werner Park," said President and General Manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers, Martie Cordaro. "So many of us have seen the film and to help celebrate the movie's 20th anniversary will be an honor."
Entering its 20th year, The Sandlot continues to entertain a second generation of fans. The film sells on average 1.5 million DVD's a year and has topped 15 million units sold.
Mr. Evans will introduce his film, to be shown on a giant outdoor projection screen in the outfield, recount for the audience where the idea for the story came from, and directly following the screening, will introduce a number of special guests from the original cast and engage the audience in a Q&A session. Showtime is scheduled for 8 p.m.
To wrap up the evening, there will be a raffle for Sandlot memorabilia such as signed baseballs, signed posters, DVD's of The Sandlot 1 and 2, as well as several pairs of original PF Flyer sneakers.
Fans will have a chance to meet the writer/director, and special guest original cast members after the screening who will be signing posters, DVD's, baseballs and photos with a portion of all proceeds donated to charity.
