ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - Nashville shutout Round Rock for the second time in three days as the Sounds defeated the Express 2-0 in Friday night's Pacific Coast League action. Nashville (33-49) took the series 2-1. Round Rock (37-45) scored just four runs in the three-game series.

Nashville struck first off Zack Jackson in the top of the fifth as former Express infielder Edwin Maysonet drove in Sean Halton with a sacrifice fly.

The Sounds added another run in the seventh when Jay Gibbons scored on a fielding error by Luis Hernandez. After Jackson loaded the bases with one out, Johan Yan got Maysonet to hit a chopper to the left side but Hernandez bobbled the ball and couldn't make the play. Yan got out of the inning with no more damage as he got Eric Farris and Logan Shafer to ground out to end the inning.

Baker (2-3) earned the win for the Sounds. He lasted six shutout innings by scattering six hits and struck out four. Johnnie Lowe, Mike McClendon and Jim Henderson tallied scoreless innings in relief. Henderson notched his seventh save.

Jackson (3-9) picked up the loss for Round Rock. He tossed six and one-third innings and allowed two runs-one earned-on five hits and two walks and struck out two.

Halton led the way for the Sounds with a pair of hits (2-for-3), a run scored and a walk. Maysonet went hitless (0-for-2) but drove in both Nashville runs.

Hernandez paced the Express with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate. The four hits were a season-high for Hernandez. Ryan Spilborghs had a pair of hits including a double, the lone extra-base hit for the E-Train.

Round Rock begins a four-game series Saturday against New Orleans at The Dell Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT. Right-hander Greg Reynolds (7-5, 4.39 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Express opposite Zephyrs left-hander Brad Hand (5-4, 4.18 ERA).

Round Rock Express Baseball, owned and operated by Ryan Sanders Baseball, LP, is the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and a member of the Pacific Coast League.
