Kannapolis-Native & Former Wonder to Face Intimidators Next Week

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 24, 2012) - Ryan Query, a Kannapolis native and former A.L. Brown Wonder, is scheduled to make his first trip home playing professional baseball when the Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, host the Rome Braves, affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, for a three-game series next week, May 28-30, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Query, who graduated from A.L. Brown in 2005, signed with Atlanta as a non-drafted free agent in 2010 and appeared in 65 games between Rookie Leagues and Double-A over the last two seasons.

Query, 24, has appeared in nine games this year with the Class A- Advanced Lynchburg Hillcats before being transferred to the Rome Braves in mid-May. In six games with Rome this season, he is batting . 286. Query did play for Rome in stretches of the 2010 and 2011 seasons, but the Braves did not make a trip to Kannapolis during that time.

The Intimidators begin the three-game series against the Braves on Memorial Day - Monday, May 28 - with first pitch at 4:05 p.m. Monday's game is Military Appreciation Day featuring $4 reserved-level tickets for all veterans and active military with valid ID. The Intimidators are also hosting our annual all-you-can-eat Memorial Day Picnic open to all fans in the BB&T Picnic Shelter for only $10.
