Rickwood Classic Highlights Five-Game Homestand against Lookouts

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons will open a five-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts, Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning Monday, May 28th at 7:05 PM.The home stand kicks off with Back to Basics Monday presented by YP Real Yellow Pages. Monday will also double as Military Appreciation night presented by DRASH. Tuesday is 50-cent Hot Dog Night at Regions Park presented by Ball Park Franks, Charter Communications and Jefferson County ALFA Agents.
On Wednesday, the Barons and Lookouts will play in the 17th Annual Rickwood Classic presented by State Farm Insurance. The 12:30 p.m. contest will celebrate Wartime Baseball while former two-time MVP and Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy will be in attendance as this year's Guest of Honor and will be available for autographs during the game. The Barons will don uniforms from the early 1940's when they were affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds while the Lookouts will also wear period uniforms. The Barons' uniforms will feature the Hale America "Health" patch, which was worn by both major league and minor league teams during the era. Hale America was a nationwide fitness program designed to promote national physical well being at the outset of World War II and the Health shield was the organization's logo.
Thursday marks the return of Thirsty Thursdays featuring 16 oz. beverages for $1 presented by Budweiser and Buffalo Wild Wings. Prior to Thursday's game there will be a pre-game concert presented by Redline Bar & Grill. Gates will open at 6:00 PM. The homestand ends with Friday Night Fireworks presented by Coca-Cola, Dale's Seasonings and MBS. Friday will also be Cancer Survivors Night and YP Yellow Pages Night.
