Dunigan Returns from DL, Vanderbilt Alum Giobbi Added

MONTGOMERY, ALA. (MAY 24, 2012) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster move that affects the Jackson Generals roster. OF Joe Dunigan has been activated from the 7-day DL and OF Daniel Carroll has been placed on the 7-day DL with a fractured hamate in his right hand. Also, catcher Ralph Henriquez has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma and catcher Andrew Giobbi has been activated from Advanced Class-A High Desert. Giobbi graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2010.

DUNIGAN, 26, had been placed on the 7-day DL with a sprained right wrist, retroactive to May 12. Dunigan is batting .303 on the season with 7 home runs and 21 RBI in 33 games.

CARROLL, 23, returns to the DL after a short stint earlier this season with a dislocated shoulder. Carroll fractured the hamate bone in his right hand during last night's game. Carroll is batting .227 with 1 home run and 5 RBI.

HENRIQUEZ, 25, returns to Triple-A Tacoma were he played in 37 games last season. Henriquez takes the spot of former General Brandon Bantz who was placed on the disabled list. Ralph was batting .228 for Jackson this season with 1 home run and 9 RBI.

GIOBBI, 25, played in 25 games this season for Advanced Class-A High Desert, batting .195 with 1 home run and 10 RBI. A native of Portland Maine, Giobbi was selected by the Mariners in the 32nd round of the 2010 draft out of Vanderbilt University.

The Generals roster stands at 25 active players, and 3 disabled.
