Dominguez Promoted To New Orleans; Mendoza Promoted To Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that INF Jeff Dominguez has been promoted to the New Orleans Zephyrs, in a move Tuesday April 17, 2012. In a corresponding roster move, INF Pedro Mendoza has been promoted to the Jacksonville Suns from the Jamestown Jammers. Mendoza is available for Tuesday's contest in Pensacola, Fla.Dominguez, had played in 10 of 12 games for the Suns in the 2012 season, hit .108 with one homerun and six runs batted in.
Mendoza, spent 26 games of the 2011 season with the Greensboro Grasshoppers where he hit .224 with four doubles and nine runs batted in. Mendoza also played 35 games for the Jamestown Jammers in 2011 where he hit .252 with four doubles and nine runs batted in. He was signed as a free agent in November of 2008. Mendoza will be assigned a number when he arrives in Pensacola on Tuesday.
