Mobile BayBears News Release

The Mobile BayBears late inning comeback was spoiled in the bottom of the ninth as the Montgomery Biscuits had a comeback of their own, beating the BayBears 8-7 Monday night at River Walk Stadium. Mobile rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the top of the seventh inning, putting up six runs to take a brief 7-6 lead. Montgomery completed their comeback when Henry Wrigley sent a chopper to short with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning as the BayBears tried to turn a double-play to send the game into extra innings. Wrigley beat out the turn at first allowing Hak-Ju Lee to score from third and seal the win.

The Biscuits scored two runs in the fourth inning when Wrigley sent a two-run homer over the left field wall to give Montgomery a 2-0 lead. The BayBears responded with one run in the top of the fifth, after Adam Eaton drove in Kyle Green with a RBI single, cutting the Biscuits lead in half at 2-1. Montgomery took a 6-1 lead, scoring a run in the fifth and three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mobile would answer the challenge again in the seventh. Matt Davidson connected for a three-run home run, later followed by an Alfredo Marte two-run homer that gave Mobile a 7-6 lead by the end of the seventh inning.
