Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The final weekend of the regular season opens tonight for the Fighting Saints as they host the Chicago Steel at 7:05 p.m. Dubuque is on a five-game winning streak, and will finish in third place in the Eastern Conference at season's end. With a pair of wins for the Fighting Saints in Dubuque this weekend, they will finish with the USHL's top record on home ice.

The Steel will miss the playoffs, but since defeating the Fighting Saints at home in early March, Chicago is 8-2-3. In that span, the Steel have beaten all of the Eastern Conference playoff teams, except for the Green Bay Gamblers, whom they did not face in that period. The Fighting Saints loss to the Steel last month is their only loss to the team this season (2-1-0) and all-time (6-1-0). Tonight's game will be the final game of the season for the Steel.

Dubuque will host Muskegon tomorrow night at 7:05, before opening the playoffs on Monday against Team USA. The best-of-three series against the Americans will be played exclusively in Dubuque. Should the Fighting Saints win two games over Team USA, they will travel to Indiana at the end of the week to open the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Ice.

The Fighting Saints and DuTrac Community Credit Union will team together tonight as the team hosts its second annual "Green Game" to showcase its commitment to the environment and sustainability. Throughout the evening, the Fighting Saints will seek to educate and entertain their fans on all things "Green". The game will feature recycling trivia, and an intermission recycling race, which will challenge fans to correctly sort through a collection of recyclables. The other intermission will feature a different kind of competition, with contestants racing electric cars around the ice and planting trees at the finish line.

Pregame coverage for tonight's game starts at 6:40 on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 and SuperHits106.com. Streaming video coverage is available on FastHockey.com.
