Groenheyde Signs with Allen Americans

Swift Current, SK - Former Swift Current Bronco netminder, Jon Groenheyde, has signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League.

Groenheyde wrapped up the 2011-12 season with a 24-29-1-6 record, a 3.45 GAA, a .893 save percentage and two shutouts in 64 appearances between the Broncos and Edmonton Oil Kings.

The 6'4", 197 pound native of White Rock, BC was named the Vaughn CHL's Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 4th, 2012.

In his WHL career, Groenheyde played 158 games between the Kamloops Blazers, Edmonton Oil Kings and Broncos where he posted a 54-73-4-11 record with two shutouts, a 3.58 GAA and a .895 save percentage.

The Allen Americans (36-17-9) currently sit second in the Berry Division at 81 points. They play tonight in Prescott Valley, AZ when they take on the Arizona Sundogs.
