Stampede Topple Tulsa

TULSA, Oklahoma, February 14, 2012 - Marcus Banks had 19 points, six assists and four rebounds and the Idaho Stampede (12-17) beat the Tulsa 66ers 100-92 after trailing by as many as 16. Banks scored 15 of his 19 in the fourth quarter alone, assisting on the three field goals he didn't score himself. It was the team's fifth win in its last six games.

Idaho trailed 30-18 after the first quarter, but won each of the final three quarters, holding the 66ers to just 35 points in the second half. The Stampede won the rebounding battle 43-31 and held a big advantage in second chance points 23-2, securing those 23 points on 13 offensive rebounds. Banks' teammates from the bench aided the offense again, with Seth Tarver scoring 12, Antoine Walker adding 11, Tony Bobbitt scoring 10 points and Reggie Larry finishing with seven points and six rebounds. Terrico White was the only starter to reach double-figures, finishing with 13 points.

The Stampede out-scored the 66ers by 15 in the second half, as the road team shot 46.9 percent from the floor and made 16-of-20 free throws, while Tulsa made 8-of-21 free throws and shot 46.4 percent.

The Stampede sent Tulsa to the line for 40 free throw attempts, but the home team made just 22 (55.0 percent), including center Marcus Lewis who went 3-for-18 from the free throw line, finishing with nine points and 13 rebounds. Robert Vaden led the 66ers (15-18) with a game-high 29 points (9-12 FG, 4-5 3FG, 7-7 FT).

Idaho takes on the Texas Legends tomorrow in Frisco, Texas at 6 p.m. (MST).
