
Andre Emmett Signs with New Jersey Nets

RENO, NEV.- The New Jersey Nets have signed Reno Bighorn Andre Emmett, it was announced today. This marks the first GATORADE Call-Up for a Bighorn this season and the 24th for the NBA D-League during the 2011-12 season.
Emmett has played 24 games with the Bighorns this season averaging 23.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He was ranked second in the D-League in points and sixth in the league in steals per game. During the season, he shot 53.1 percent from the field, including 45.9 percent on three pointers. For his efforts, he was named NBA D-League Co-Performer of the Week on Jan. 3.
Emmett returns to the NBA, having played eight games with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2004-05 season, when he scored seven points and grabbed two rebounds in 28 minutes.
Emmett is expected to join Deron Williams and the Nets when they host the Bighorns affiliate Memphis Grizzlies tomorrow. He will face former Bighorns Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak of the New York Knicks on Monday, February 20 at Madison Square Garden.
