Visiting Idaho Tops Tulsa

TULSA, Okla., Feb. 14, 2012 - Robert Vaden notched a game-high 29 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and Marcus Lewis pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, but the visiting Idaho Stampede (12-17) topped the Tulsa 66ers (15-18) by a 100-92 final score Tuesday night inside the Tulsa Convention Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the 66ers was Jerome Dyson with 16.

Tulsa collected 21 assists as a team, led by six dishes from Larry Owens. The 66ers shot 32-of-61 (.525) from the floor, marking the seventh time this season they have shot better than 50 percent overall in a contest.

The 66ers defense forced 21 Stampede turnovers and created 11 steals, led by two thefts each from Dyson, Delroy James and Owens.

"We are a young team that needs to focus on getting better both collectively and individually," 66ers head coach Dale Osbourne said. "Idaho is a good, veteran team. We need to continue to find ways to win basketball games down the stretch as a team."

Leading Idaho in scoring was Marcus Banks off the bench with 19. David Bailey added nine rebounds and a game-high seven assists.

The 66ers return to the court this Friday, Feb. 17, when they travel to Sioux Falls to take on the Skyforce at 7 p.m. CT.
