
P-Bruins Extend Point Streak to Three

Worcester, MA - The Providence Bruins extended their point streak to three games after falling to the Worcester Sharks 3-2 in overtime Saturday evening at the DCU Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Bobby Robins and Josh Hennessy. The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons for Stadium Cup Day.
The Sharks took a 1-0 lead at the 19:18 mark of the opening period. Jack Combs tallied his seventh goal of the season, while Sean Sullivan and Chad Costello recorded the assists. Worcester led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Providence tied the game at one at the 4:27 mark of the second period. Lane MacDermid had the puck and passed it off to Trent Whitfield. He fed Robins, who scored his second goal of the season. The P-Bruins took their first lead of the game at the 11:38 mark, while on the power play. Carter Camper had the puck and sent it to the point for David Warsofsky. He sent it towards the net where it was picked up by Hennessy, who scored his 13th goal of the season. Worcester tied the game at two at the 15:50 mark. Marek Viedensky netted his fourth goal of the season, while Brandon Mashinter picked up the lone assist. The game was tied at two going into the second intermission.
After a scoreless third period, the game went into overtime. At the 2:45 mark, while on the power play, Mike Moore scored his second goal of the season, with Sullivan and Viedensky getting the assists, as the Sharks went onto the 3-2 overtime victory.
Michael Hutchinson stopped 35 of 38 shots for the P-Bruins, while Antero Niittymaki made 26 saves for the Sharks. The P-Bruins were 1-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
