Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat and Charlotte Checkers will do battle for the second time in two days tonight, with the home team looking for a measure of revenge after losing 5-0 to the Checkers in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

The Heat could see their line-up bolstered by the reassignment of Paul Byron, and assignment of Brett Carson to Abbotsford from the Calgary Flames. Byron has spent all of 2012 and the bulk of December with the Heat's NHL affiliate, while Carson has had a pair of two-week conditioning stints with the Heat already this season; both were sent to Abbotsford on Friday.

Currently the Heat sit six points behind the Oklahoma City Barons in their season long three-way battle in the West Division standings. Houston is just a single point above the Heat for second in the West Division as they picked up a point for an overtime loss. Charlotte leads the Midwest Division with 52 points in 42 games played.

Tonight's second of four regular season meetings between the two clubs starts at 7:00 PM with the pre-game show starting at 6:30 on Country 107.1 FM and online at theAHL.com and it's 'unused season ticket redemption night' as well.
