Mooseheads 8th DND Appreciation Night Next Friday, November 4th

The Halifax Mooseheads announced this morning that they will host their 8th Annual DND Appreciation Night next Friday, November 4th when the Herd welcomes the Moncton Wildcats. Game time is 7pm.

The Mooseheads will wear specially designed NAVY jerseys for this game, similar to those at last year's event, which raised over $10,000 for the QEII Foundation - Camp Hill Memorial Garden. DND members and their families will again receive a special discounted $8 ticket to this game which can be purchased at the PSP Information Kiosk located at Stadplex Gymnasium Stadacona.

"This is an important game for our Organization and for our fans each season", stated Brian Urquhart, Vice President Business Operations for the Mooseheads. "It's a game we mark on our calendars each year as it's our special way of saying thanks to the men and women of Canadian Forces Base Halifax".

A Canadian Forces Flag Party, Anthem Singer and Piper will all be included in the pre-game ceremonies. Captain (N) Steve Jorgeson, representing Canadian Forces Base Halifax, along with a military family will perform the official puck drop for the event. Dri-fit t-shirts with the NAVY and Mooseheads logo will also be for sale at Antlers Merchandise Store with proceeds going to the cause.

"This event is very important and means a great deal to DND/Military personnel, veterans and their families", stated Ken Doucette, Senior Sponsorship Specialist, Canadian Forces Base Halifax and CFSU Ottawa. "Especially at this time of the year, time of remembrance, we get a chance to reflect and give thanks for those who have made this great country what it is today. We cannot thank the Mooseheads enough for what they continue do for us".

The special jerseys will again be used to raise funds for the QEll Foundation - Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Garden. Raffle tickets will be sold by DND Personnel at the game on 5 game worn one-of-a-kind NAVY Mooseheads jerseys. The remaining jerseys will be auctioned off with the date and location announced at Friday's game.
