ALBANY, N.Y. - Three third period tallies helped power the Binghamton Senators past the Albany Devils, 4-2 Sunday evening at the Times Union Center. Pat Cannone led the Binghamton offense scoring the game winning goal and adding an assist. Robin Lehner made his second straight start in goal for Binghamton, turning away 29 of the 31 shots faced.
Steve Zalewski gave the hometown Devils the 1-0 lead as he notched his first goal of the season at 9:48 of the first period. Nikita Filatov answered for Binghamton, scoring his third goal in three games at 11:21 of the period. Cannone earned the lone assist on the goal.
Matt Taormina broke the tie at 12:43 of the second period, giving his team the 2-1 advantage heading into the third period.
Derek Grant struck for the B-Sens, tying the game at two just 31 seconds into the final frame. Corey Locke earned the lone assist on the goal, his team-leading sixth assist on the young season.
At the 11:30 mark, Cannone gave Binghamton their first lead in the game as he scored his first goal of the season and second point of the night. David Dziurzynski and Bobby Raymond each received credit for an assist on the goal.
Kaspars Daugavins sealed the fate of the Devils, adding an empty-net goal with 44 seconds remaining in regulation. Mark Parrish and Eric Gryba assisted on the goal. With the assist, Parrish now leads the B-Sens with seven points (4+37) in five games.
The Binghamton Senators are next in action as they travel to Norfolk take on the Admirals Friday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens.
