Gladiators Add Four to Roster for 2011-12 Season

The Gwinnett Gladiators have agreed to terms with defenseman Will Colbert in addition to forwards Devin Timberlake, Nikita Kashirsky and Joey Haddad for the 2011-12 season.

In his second professional season last year, Colbert netted 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 58 games with the Gladiators. He also skated in two games with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League but was held scoreless.

Colbert split time with Kalmazoo and AHL Worcester in his rookie campaign in 2009-10. He finished with nine points (four goals, five assists) in 37 games with the Wings and collected one assist in 19 games with the Worcester Sharks. Prior to the start of his professional career, Colbert played four seasons with St. Francis Xavier University and recorded 53 points (12 goals, 41 assists) in 109 career collegiate games.

Timberlake earned two points (one goal, one assist) in 14 games with the Gladiators last year after he was acquired by the Gladiators in a trade with Reading on March 2nd. He recorded 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 35 games with the Royals. He also appeared in two games with Providence of the AHL but did not register a point.

The Port Alberni, British Columbia earned two goals in six AHL games at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season with the Providence Bruins. Prior to Providence, Timberlake posted a career year at Brown University with 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 37 games. He completed his collegiate career with 61 points (19 goals, 42 assists) in 110 career games with Brown University.

Kashirsky played part of each of the past three seasons with the South Carolina Stingrays. Last year, he earned 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 34 games in North Charleston. He also had a pair of goals with AHL Hershey in 14 games.

He had 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) in 39 games with the Stingrays during the 2009-10 season while he fielded a pair of call-ups to the AHL. He earned three points (two goals, one assist) in 16 games with Manitoba and also had three points (one goal, two assists) with Springfield.

Kashirsky joined South Carolina for 13 games at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season and had seven points (three goals, four assist) for the Stingrays. Prior to the start of his professional career, he played four seasons at Norwich University and had 144 points (73 goals, 41 assists) in 110 career collegiate games.

Haddad split time during each of his first two professional seasons with the Wheeling Nailers and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL. He had 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 50 games with Wheeling last year and collected four points (one goal, three assists) in 16 AHL games.

The Sydney, Nova Scotia native recorded 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 34 games with the Nailers. He also had six points (one goal, five assists) in 29 games with the AHL Penguins.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
