Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Lookouts starting pitcher Michael Antonini pitched brilliantly for the Lookouts, while Brian Cavazos-Galvez and Alfredo Silverio contributed with homers to lead the Lookouts to an 8-2 win over Montgomery Biscuits in Friday night action at AT&T Field.
After both teams failed to score in the first frame, the Lookouts came swinging right out of the gate in the second frame. Back-to-back singles by Hector Gimenez and Travis Denker set up a Brian Cavazos-Galvez homer over the right field wall, giving the Lookouts a 3-0 lead.
Chattanooga added another run to their total in the fourth inning on a Denker RBI single, which was prefaced by a Gimenez double off of Montgomery starting pitcher Kyle Lobstein (1-1).
Michael Antonini pitched a gem of a game for the Lookouts, cruising through the first six innings virtually unscathed. The lefty, however, encountered some turbulence in the seventh inning with his pitch count in triple digits. After striking out the leadoff hitter, Antonini walked Greg Sexton. Antonini bounced back with another strike out, but an error by second baseman Travis Denker prolonged the inning. With his pitch count now at 122, Steven Ames came out of the bullpen to replace Antonini. Ames proceeded to give up two singles to plate two unearned runs for the Biscuits.
Chattanooga augmented their lead in the eighth inning with four insurance runs. Alfredo Silverio highlighted the rally by hitting a two-run homer.
Shawn Tolleson closed the door on the Biscuits in the ninth to preserve the 8-2 win. Antonini (10-9) picked up the win for the Lookouts. He surrendered just three hits and a walk on the evening, while striking out nine.
The Chattanooga Lookouts and Montgomery Biscuits will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
