Stars' Bats Silent in 2-0 Loss to Mobile

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Huntsville Stars (64-72) could not get the bats going in game two as they fall to the Mobile BayBears (83-54) 2-0.

Adam Eaton started the game off with a single, but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double. The next batter, A.J. Pollock sent one yard, one of two home runs the BayBears would hit off of starter Michael Bowman (6-12).

Bowman went 5.2 innings allowing only the two home runs and a total of six hits and five walks.

Jarrod Parker only went three innings but left after allowing only one hit. The win went to Bryan Henry (7-4) who pitched two innings of relief and let up two hits.

Yonata Ortega walked Khris Davis in the ninth but left him stranded on first base, picking up his first save of the season.

Hainley Statia was the only Stars' batter to record two hits in the game. Zelous Wheeler extended his hitting streak to nine games.

The series against the BayBears is now even at 1-1 after Friday's loss with game three set for Saturday night at 6:43 p.m. CST. Saturday will be the last McDonald's Youth Sports Saturday, kids wearing a youth sports or scout uniform will get free admission into the game.
