Memphis Redbirds News Release


MEMPHIS, TN - The Redbirds return to AutoZone Park for their seventh homestand of the season after a three-game series in Nashville (1-2) and a four-game series in Round Rock (2-2). While home, the 'Birds will host the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers affiliate) and Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals affiliate). The Redbirds homestand will be headlined the Red-out on Friday, July 15, fireworks on Saturday, July 16 and Rockey's Rockin' Readers on Thursday, July 14 and Thursday July 21.

Thursday, July 14, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Round Rock Express (7:05 p.m.)

* Rockey's Rockin' Readers: Fans that participated in Rockey's Rockin' Reader program will be attending the game as part of a reward for filling out the Rockey's Readers Form and reading six books over the summer.

* KMOX: KMOX, the St. Louis Cardinals flagship radio station, will be carrying the Memphis Redbirds game this evening.

* Bastille Day: With today being the French National Day, the Redbirds will have French-themed in-game contests and the French National Anthem will be performed pre-game.

* 'AYCE' Seats: Any Thursday throughout the season, there will be an all-you-can-eat buffet and outfield box ticket available now for only $18.00 brought to you by T-Mobile. The buffet begins once gates open and lasts for two hours.

* Subway Eat Fresh Thursday: Fans can receive half off game day ticket prices with a receipt from Subway, limit four. There will be a $25 Subway gift certificate given away during the game and if the Redbirds win, Subway buy one, get one coupons will be distributed upon exit.

Friday, July 15, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Round Rock Express (5:05 p.m.)

* Doubleheader: Gates for the doubleheader will open at 4:30 p.m. Game one will start at 5:05 p.m. with game two beginning a half hour after the end of game one. The Redbirds will play two, seven-inning games.

* I HEART the Redbirds: The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive an 'I HEART the Redbirds' red t-shirt giveaway brought to you by Subway and the American Heart Association. Check out the I See Red People video.

* Officer Warren Family Fundraiser: The Redbirds will donate a dollar from every ticket purchased for Friday's game to the Warren Memorial Fund set up at Regions Bank. That one dollar will be tripled by corporate partners, AutoZone and Fundamental Advisors, LP who have both pledged to match the Redbirds' donation to the Officer Tim Warren Memorial Fund. The Redbirds will be accepting additional donations at the game from fans and various items will be up for auction as well with proceeds going to the Fund. The game will start with a moment of silence to recognize Officer Warren's ultimate sacrifice for the City of Memphis.

* God Bless America: In honor of the Officer Warren fundraiser, the Peacemakers will sing God Bless America. The Peacemakers are a singing group made up of Memphis Police.

Saturday, July 16, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Round Rock Express (6:05 p.m.)

* Fredbird Appearance: The St. Louis Cardinals mascot, Fredbird will be making an appearance at AutoZone Park brought to you by Casino Queen

* Welcome Home: The Memphis Veteran Affairs will host their annual Welcome Home event for members of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans at AutoZone Park. The night will include a pre-game job fair where over 30 businesses from Memphis and the surrounding areas will be present looking to hire these Veterans.

* Fly Over: Two Navy T45 Goshawks fighter jets will fly over AutoZone Park following the National Anthem.

* US Air Force swearing-in ceremony: There will be 25-30 US Air Force Recruits being sworn in on the field post-game.

* Launch-a-Ball: Before post-game fireworks display fans can purchase tennis balls by Ford FansFirst, priced at a dollar per ball, to throw onto the field into bins for a chance to win Redbirds prize packs that include tickets and memorabilia presented by Waste Management.

* Babytime Baby Race #3: The Redbirds and Babytime will hold their second Baby Race at AutoZone Park. Three babies will be selected to go on field and crawl to the finish line. For more information and dates of other races visit http://tinyurl.com/3kyzadp.

* Signature Saturdays: Select Redbird players will sign autographs for a half hour on the concourse starting when gates open.

* Post-game Fireworks: Fans are encouraged to stay and enjoy post-game fireworks sponsored by Farmers Insurance.

Sunday, July 17, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Round Rock Express (6:05 p.m.)

* Smile Sundays: The first 500 kids 14 and under are given a free hygiene product upon entrance brought to you by Delta Dental.

* Silly Bandz Sunday: Every Sunday the first 500 kids 14 and under will receive Silly Bandz sponsored by Ferraro's Pizzeria & Pub and KRAFT Foods.

* Kids Run the Bases: Kids will be able to run the bases after the game.

Monday, July 18, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Omaha Storm Chasers (7:05 p.m.)

* Tickets for Peanuts: Every Monday fans can bring a receipt to the box office from Kroger for Jimbo Jumbo's peanuts and receive half off game day ticket prices.

* Spirit of America: Two Jeeps painted bumper to bumper as an American Flag will be displayed in the front plaza. The two jeeps are making their way across the United States stopping along the way to help raise funds for the Wounded Warriors and Fallen Heroes of America's Armed Forces.

* Pert Plus Samples: Fans will receive samples of Pert Plus shampoo upon exit.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 - Redbirds vs. Omaha Storm Chasers (7:05 p.m.)

* Idea Night: Presented by MLGW, surveys will be passed out during the game asking for fan feedback. MLGW will also be passing out light bulbs upon exit.
