Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited for MMA Day at Ivor Wynne Stadium this Saturday, July 18, when they host the Saskatchewan Roughriders. MMA Day will feature appearances by UFC athletes Mark 'The Machine' Hominick and Sam 'Hands of Stone' Stout as well as a postgame autograph session on the field with Ticats players.

Hominick earned worldwide recognition in April after his epic UFC 129 showdown with featherweight champion Jose Aldo while bearing the Ticats logo on his shorts. Stout, a London, Ontario native, recorded an impressive knockout victory at last month's UFC 131 in Vancouver.

Hominick and Stout will sign autographs in the TigerTown Fanzone at Brian Timmis Field beginning at 3:00pm and fans can take their photo in the full-size MMA Octagon photo area courtesy of Tapout. The TigerTown Fanzone will also include inflatable games for kids, a cheerleader photo booth, alumni autograph sessions, music, food and tons of fun for the entire family.

At halftime, the videoboard will show live interviews with a Ticats player, as well as Hominick and Stout, before groups demonstrating different disciplines of mixed martial arts take the field for an on-field showcase of their skills.

After the game, fans are invited onto the turf to join the Ticats. Shortly after the game ends, players will be available on the field for autographs and pictures.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling 905-547-CATS (2287) or by visiting Ticats.ca.
