Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - For the second straight week, a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bomber defense has been named Defensive Player of the Week. Linebacker Joe Lobendahn walks away with the honour and captures his second Player of the Week award of his four-year career.
Lobendahn was a force to be reckoned with in his team's 22-16 victory over the Toronto Argonauts and recorded seven tackles, two sacks and three fumble recoveries. He was also a big factor in stopping the Argos' short yardage situations as Toronto also turned the ball over on downs on one occasion.
Lobendahn was last named Player of the Week in 2010 after week one.
