TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels rallied for a pair of runs with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and Richmond took game two of the series from Reading, 3-2, on Saturday night in front of 8,695 fans at The Diamond.

GRAND FINALE?: The Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies meet in the rubber match of the three-game series this afternoon...Richmond is 3-3 in series-deciding contests and is 7-9 overall in series finales...The club is 2-8 in day games after night games and is 4-9 overall during the day.

THE LOW DOWN: Catcher Aaron Lowenstein has hits in a season-long six straight games after going 1-for-3 last night against Reading...The 25-year-old is 7-for-17 (.412) over that span with a double, a RBI, and a run scored...Lowenstein also threw out another baserunner last night and has thrown out 15 baserunners in 20 attempts...His .750 throwing percentage leads all Eastern League catchers with at least 20 attempts.

TOUGH TIMES: Outfielder Justin Christian is batting .125 (5-for-44) over his last 12 games with a RBI, a run scored, seven strikeouts and four walks...His batting average has dropped from .289 to .251 over that span...Catcher Johnny Monell is 0-for-21 over his last eight games...The 25-year-old has seen his average tumble from .230 to .201...Prior to his recent skid, Monell had hits in each of his previous six games and he hit .381 (8-for-21) over that stretch...Since recording a career-high five hits against Harrisburg 5/15, outfielder Juan Perez is batting .176 (13-for-74) over his last 19 games...His average has dipped from .270 to .237 over that span...The 24-year-old's triple in the bottom of the fourth inning last night ended an 0-for-14 skid at the plate.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.77 ERA through 55 games, the only staff with a sub-three ERA...Richmond's 2.77 staff ERA is the third-lowest in all of MiLB, trailing the Low-A Burlington Bees (2.67) and Advanced-A Clearwater Threshers (2.68)...The club ranks second in the league with 438 strikeouts, and the pitching staff has logged a league-high 507 1/3 innings of work.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in a stretch where they will play 13 of 16 games on the road...The club is 8-18 on the road, and it is batting .194 (167-for-859) and averaging 2.85 runs per game (74R/26G) in 26 road contests...Richmond recently completed a stretch of playing 10 out of 13 games at home, going 8-5 over those 13 contests...The Flying Squirrels are 18-11 at home and are batting .249 (250-for-1,003) in 29 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.10 runs per game at home (119R/29G).
