Harrisburg Senators News Release
On Sunday afternoon in Erie, the Harrisburg Senators snapped their mini three-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the Erie SeaWolves. Tanner Roark pitched into the 8th inning to earn his third win with the Sens against just one loss. Tyler Moore started the scoring with a two-run home run in the fourth, his 11th homer on the season. The Senators improve to 31-23 while Erie drops to 27-28 on the season.
Trailing 1-0 into the top of the fourth, Chris Rahl doubled and then Moore tagged one over the fence in straightaway center for a 2-1 lead. The Sens went on to score three more runs with the help of three walks, an RBI single from Steve Lombardozzi and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Josh Johnson.
Leading 5-1 into the seventh, the Sens scored two more on a two-out two-strike single off the bat of Archie Gilbert.
Roark started the 8th inning and allowed consecutive singles before giving the ball to Patrick McCoy. McCoy allowed a run scoring double, then an RBI single, and finally allowed a run on a wild pitch before settling down and retiring the final three batters.
Zech Zinicola took over in the ninth and allowed a two-out double, but struck out Jamie Johnson to end the game. Zinicola earned his second save since joining the Senators.
Gilbert and Rahl both had three hits for the Sens and Lombardozzi had two hits.
