Altoona, Pennsylvania- Alex Wilson (5-3) took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, leading the Portland Sea Dogs to a 4-0 win over the Altoona Curve Saturday night. The Sea Dogs scored a run each in the third through sixth innings to pick up the victory. With the win, Portland extends its win streak to a season-high four games in a row. The Sea Dogs clinched their first series victory since taking three of four from the Binghamton Mets in late April. It's also the team's first road series win, and first winning road trip of 2011.

After Brock Huntzinger and Jeremy Kehrt notched wins in the last two games, Wilson picked up right where they left off. The righty faced the minimum through sixteen batters, allowing only one baserunner until the sixth inning. That came on a leadoff walk to Jordy Mercer in the second inning. Mercer was promptly erased on a fly ball when he was thrown out trying to tag up and take second base.

Wilson's numbers tonight continue what has been a dominant season for the righty. He went six innings and did not allow a run, surrendering just two hits and two walks, while striking out six. Opponents have scored more than three runs off of Wilson just once this season. As a team, the Sea Dogs have now given up just two earned runs, three total, over the last 34 and two-thirds innings.

Almost all of Portland's offense came via the long ball. Altoona starter Michael Colla (4-2) had allowed just three home runs all season going into the game. The Sea Dogs matched that total, all solo long balls. Jorge Padron hit one in the third inning to make it 1-0. Chih-Hsien Chiang smacked his eighth of the year in the fourth inning. Ryan Lavarnway blasted the third of the game, his 13th of the season, to make it 4-0 Portland in the sixth inning. The only non-home run score came on a Jon Hee RBI single in the fifth.

The Sea Dogs go for the series sweep in Altoona tomorrow night with a rare 6:00 PM evening start. Portland returns to Hadlock Field on Tuesday, June 7th. The team kicks off a six-game homestand against the Richmond Flying Squirrels and Bowie Baysox. The Sea Dogs will celebrate Good Neighbor Night, sponsored by State Farm Insurance on Wednesday, June 8th. For tickets, log on to www.seadogs.com or call 207-879-9500.
