
Sibbald Wins Two For Havoc

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Mark Sibbald got a 4-3 win over Louisiana on Friday and a 6-2 win over Knoxville on Saturday as the Huntsville Havoc went 2-1 over the weekend.
Thursday, November 25 - Mississippi 4, Huntsville 3
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Chris Chambers scored with 10:48 left in the third period giving the Mississippi Surge a 4-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc Thanksgiving Night in Huntsville.
The Surge took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission as Steve Weidlich and Jason Beeman both scored goals. Shaun Arvai scored on the powerplay with 9:41 left in the period to cut into the lead.
The Havoc scored two goals in the second and the Surge scored one to take a 3-3 tie into the third period. Kyle Laughlin and Kevin Kessler both scored for the Havoc while Beeman added a penalty shot goal.
Dan McWhinney made 24 saves in the loss while Dan Earles made 34 in the win. The Havoc converted on just 1-of-9 powerplay chances including a 5:00 powerplay late in the third.
Friday, November 26 -Huntsville 4, Louisiana 3
LAFAYETTE, LA - The Huntsville Havoc fell behind 2-0 before rallying to claim at 4-3 win over the Louisiana IceGators Friday night.
Mike Carter scored the winning goal for the Havoc with just :13 left in the game.
Beau McLaughlin scored two first period goals to give the IceGators the early 2-0 lead. Mike MacDonald scored with under a minute to go in the first to cut the lead to 2-1 heading into the first intermission.
Ryan Fultz scored midway through the second period to extend the lead to two goals at 3-1. Shaun Arvai scored with 2:08 left in the second to cut the game back to a one-goal lead at 3-2.
Ray Ortiz tied the game with a powerplay goal with 12:23 to go in the game setting up the Carter game-winner.
Mark Sibbald made 19 saves in the win for the Havoc.
Saturday, November 27 - Knoxville 2, Huntsville 6
HUNTSVILLE, AL - At the 13:40 mark of the second period the Knoxville Ice Bears held a 2-1 lead over the Huntsville Havoc, five straight Havoc goals erased the defecit and crusied to a 6-2 win.
Tyler Fletcher got the Ice Bears on the board first with 12:36 left in the first period. Stephen Margeson tied the game at 1-1 with 8:12 to go and the game was tied 1-1 after one period.
The Ice Bears took a 2-1 lead just 2:27 into the second when Mike Bulawka found the back of the net.
The Havoc then scored four straight goals to finish the second period. Glenn Detuello got the scoring started with a powerplay goal with 13:40 left in the period. Kamil Vavra gave the Havoc their first lead with 12:27 left.
Mike Carter scored with 9:31 left and Stephen Margeson finished the scoring with 1:00 to go in the second.
Kyle Laughlin added a powerplay goal with 8:27 left in the game to finish the scoring for the Havoc.
Mark Sibbald got his second consecutive win with 33 saves. Bryan Hince started for the Ice Bears and allowed five goals and made 34 saves in the loss. Andrew Gallant replaced him for the third period and allowed one goal and made five saves.
