Pensacola, FL- The Pensacola Ice Flyers come up one goal short in their loss against the Louisiana IceGators Friday night.

The IceGators left wing Beau McLaughlin scored the first goal quickly in the twelfth minute of the first period. The next score wouldn't be until the end of the second when the IceGators DJ Fimiani would slip one in against the Ice Flyers' goalie, Ryan Scott. Scott notched 23 saves on 26 shots for the game.

The Ice Flyers' began to show a sign of life when Kyle Crawford scored with the help of Tyler Soehner and Jason Hill in the latter part of the ninth minute in period two. The period would end with Ice Flyers trailing by only one.

The IceGators last score came from Shawn McNeil in the beginning of the third period when the Ice Flyers' were down a man. At the end of the third period, Mark Hinz, in a last effort, would score to make the score 2-3. The Ice Flyers' would have a few close calls with two minutes left but were unable to pull out the win.

In addition, the Pensacola Ice Flyers' added two players to the 2010-2011 roster and they debuted tonight behind the bench. Tanner Shultz comes to our team after playing at the University of Regina located in Saskatchewan, Canada for 3 years. The 6 foot 1 right wing marked 5 goals and 10 assists for a total of 15 points in his last season with the Cougars. If his name sounds familiar, it is because in 2005-2006, he played seven games with the Ice Pilots racking up 1 goal and 19 penalty minutes.

Tommy Lee, our newest goalie, found his way to Pensacola after previously playing for SPHL opponents the Fayetteville FireAntz. Lee competed in one game with 40 saves in 64 minutes for Fayetteville. Before playing for the FireAntz, Lee played for Brock University located in Ontario, Canada for 4 consecutive years.

The Pensacola Ice Flyers face the still undefeated Huntsville Havoc tomorrow night (11/6) at The Hangar. That game will also feature the Ice Flyers' first ever Guinness World Record Attempt as we look to put Pensacola in the books for hosting the World's Largest Bikini Parade. Ladies are encouraged to bring their two-pieces and participate in our celebration of the beach and helping raise funds for the Emerald Coastkeeper.
