Canucks Assign Tambellini to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have assigned forward Jeff Tambellini to the Moose. Tambellini will now to travel to Hamilton to join the team prior to their game Wednesday, November 3rd vs. the Bulldogs.
Tambellini, 26, has played in six games so far this season with the Canucks where he's scored three points (2g, 1a). The Calgary, AB native has played in 186 career games in the NHL with Vancouver, New York Islanders, and Los Angeles Kings where he's scored 49 points (20g, 29a) and collected 76 penalty minutes. Tambellini has also appeared in 169 AHL games with Bridgeport and Manchester in his five-year professional career. In the AHL, he has scored 194 points (96g, 98a) and collected 112 penalty minutes. His best season in the AHL came in 2007-08 and when scored 76 points (38g, 38a) in only 57 games with the Sound Tigers. He has appeared in a pair of AHL All-Star Classics in 2008 (Binghamton) and 2006 (Winnipeg). He was originally drafted by Los Angeles in the first round, 27th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
After the completion of their current seven-game road trip, the Moose return home to a pair of games against the Rochester Americans on Friday, November 12th and Saturday, November 13th. Both games begin at 7:30pm. On November 12th, the Moose will celebrate Heritage Night honouring the franchise's 15-year history. As well, that night, the team will wear a special third-jersey honouring the AHL's 75-year history overall. Then on Saturday, the Moose will welcome Santa Claus to MTS Centre following the annual Power Smart-JCI Winnipeg Santa Claus parade. Doors open at 6:00pm.
