Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox host the 17th Central Maryland Career Fair at Prince George's Stadium Friday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The biannual career fair is sponsored by The Pennysaver and presented in conjunction with the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation and Prince George's County Workforce Services.
Admission for career-seekers is free, and participants are encouraged to wear business attire. Last year, more than 700 attendees met face-to-face with potential employers across multiple job sectors.
Among companies scheduled to attend are H&R Block, Maryland Army National Guard and Strayer University. Baysox Director of Sponsorships Matt McLaughlin points to companies returning to the career fair as an indication of the event's success.
"Frito-Lay, in particular, is excited to attend again," McLaughlin said. "They have always been impressed with the quality of the applicants. We have traditionally attracted very talented and highly motivated career-seekers."
Companies interested in securing recruitment space at the Central Maryland Career Fair can contact McLaughlin at (301) 464-4875, or via e-mail at mmclaughlin@baysox.com for pricing information and availability.
A complete listing of companies attending can be found online at www.baysox.com. Attendees are encouraged to check the Web site often for updates on companies scheduled to attend.
The Baysox 2010 campaign has come to an end. The Baysox open the 2011 season on the road in Harrisburg Thursday, April 7. They play their first game at Prince George's Stadium Thursday, April 14, at 7:05 p.m.
