New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats released their 2011 Eastern League Schedule today and it includes more home games (11) against Portland - the Boston Red Sox' EL affiliate - than any other Club in the historic circuit. In addition, the Rock Cats will host the New York Yankees' affiliate - Trenton, and the New York Mets' partner - Binghamton, 7 times each next year within the friendly confines of New Britain Stadium.
The Rock Cats will unlock the Stadium gates for their 2011 Home Opener on April 14th with Portland providing the Opening Night competition; the new season's first homestand will feature 4 games with the Red Sox affiliate, followed by three early encounters with New Hampshire, partner of the up-and-coming Toronto Blue Jays.
Ticket prices will remain the same in 2011, ranging from $5 for General Admission to $8 for Reserved/Adult ($6 Child/Senior), $10 for Field Box, $12 for Club Seats, and $15 for the few-in-number, upper level MVP Seats.
The Rock Cats have also scheduled 8 Weekday/Daytime home games in 2011, with early start times that have proven to be very popular with a diverse mix of fans, from school children to retirees to business people taking an early lunch. Five of these games will have 10:35 AM starts, while the other three feature first pitches at 12:05 PM.
The 2011 Schedule in New Britain also gives fans and families an enjoyable baseball option around two traditional American Holidays - the club will host Harrisburg, the Washington Nationals' affiliate over the July 4th Weekend (July 1-3) and, as is becoming a tradition, will close the Regular Season with the New York Yankees' partner - Trenton - over the extended Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 2-5).
The `Cats will open their 2011 Season on Thursday, April 7th, in Richmond, VA against the San Francisco Giants affiliate, the Flying Squirrels. After a four-game set in Dixie, they'll head north, making a quick stop in Harrisburg, PA before arriving in the Hardware City to kick off the home portion of the 142-game campaign.
The upcoming Rock Cats season will again feature special pre-and post-game activities and/or a promotional giveaway at every home game. The 2011 Season will also offer 11 home Weekend Series as well as the usual assortment of weekend Fireworks and/or exciting Pyrotecknic Shows.
In addition., the club has also created some very attractive incentives/benefits offerings for fans (and companies) who secure their ticket packages early. For those who purchase this Fall, incentives include additional discounts, free food at games, and other benefits such as Free Tickets to the upcoming Big E, and gift certificates to Dick's Sporting Goods. The Rock Cats are also actively booking group outings and picnics right now.
The New Britain Rock Cats attracted a record 368,523 fans to New Britain Stadium in the just-concluded 2010 Season. The club will soon be entering its 17th consecutive season of affiliation with the American League's Minnesota Twins - current occupants of 1st Place in the AL's Central Division - in large part because of the outstanding play of several players who refined their baseball skills performing before large, enthusiastic crowds here in New Britain. The big league stars of tomorrow truly do perform right here in Connecticut.
Fans interested in securing tickets to any of the 71 home games the Rock Cats will play at New Britain Stadium next year - or in learning more about the wide range of customized and affordable Season Ticket packages - should either visit the New Britain Stadium Box Office (M-F, 10 AM - 5 PM) or call the Rock Cats Ticket Office at (860) 224-8383.
