Joseph Placed On Disabled List; Segedin Transferred To Trenton

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced that INF Corban Joseph has been placed on the seven day disabled list (wrist), and that they have received INF Rob Segedin from Short Season Staten Island.

Joseph, 21, was batting .216 with 13 RBI in 31 games for the Thunder since being promoted on August 3. Prior to his promotion, Joseph hit .302 with 6 HR, 52 RBI and had a .378 OBP in 98 games for High-A Tampa.

Segedin, 21, was selected by the Yankees out of Tulane in the third round of this year's Major League Baseball Draft. The New Jersey native signed with the Yankees on August 13 and was sent to the GCL Yankees. In 22 combined games with the GCL Yankees and Short Season Single-A Staten Island, Segedin hit .244 with 2 HR and 10 RBI.

The EL Eastern Division Series begins on Wednesay and is a best-of-five format to determine who will play in the championship round. RHP Dellin Betances will start for the Thunder, while New Hampshire gives the ball to RHP Kyle Drabek.
