Jamestown Jammers News Release
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Auburn Doubledays built an early lead and held on late to salvage game three of the series against the Jammers.
The Doubledays scored five runs in the top of the first inning off starter Josh Hodges to take a 5-0 lead. Jamestown scored a run in the bottom of the second and three in the third to make it 5-4. Marcell Ozuna hit his 17thhome run of the season in the third, a two-run blast to cut the deficit to one.
Auburn scored a run in the fourth and Jamestown answered with a run in the fifth on Ryan Fisher's double to make it a one-run game again. But the Doubledays' bullpen shut the door, pitching scoreless baseball through the final four innings to preserve the win.
The Jammers lead the division by 2.0 games over Batavia and Williamsport after their game was rained out. Jamestown now travels to Auburn for three games, beginning on Tuesday, August 24th at 7:05 pm. All three games can be heard live on JamestownJammers.com.
