Royals Final Home Stand to Send Rosenblatt out in Style

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals, the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals that has called Rosenblatt Stadium home since 1969, will open its last regular-season home stand at the historic ballpark Saturday, August 21st. The 13-game home stand includes nine games vs. division rivals Memphis and Iowa, as the Royals battle the Redbirds and Cubs for a spot in the Pacific Coast League playoffs. Here's a rundown of the exciting promotions on tap:

Saturday, August 21, 7:05 p.m.: The Royals open the 13-game home stand with the first of four games vs. the division- rival Memphis Redbirds. It's 1970 Championship Night, as the Royals mark the 40th anniversary of their 1970 American Association title, presented by MyTimeToQuit.com, Crescent Collectibles and SilverStone Group. Former 1970 O-Royals Jack McKeon, Paul Splittorff, Tom Burgmeier and many others will be honored. The night features a 1970 team photo giveaway, public autograph session, on-field ceremony honoring the 1970 champs, plus post-game fireworks! The night is also presented by 1620 The Zone, WOWT and The Reader.

Sunday, August 22, 1:35 p.m.: It's U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and balloon art. Subway Kids Club members get in FREE and following the game all kids are invited to run the bases with Casey, presented by Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. The day is also presented by KGBI 100.7 FM, Fox 42 and Family Spectrum Magazine.

Monday, August 23, 7:05 p.m.: Rotella's Italian Bakery presents $1 hot dog night - Hebrew National hot dogs are just a buck! Plus, it's another "Kids Who Rock" Night: lucky kids who have been selected by 89.7 The River will have the opportunity to throw out a ServiceOne first pitch before the game.

Tuesday, August 24, 12:05 p.m.: Enjoy 1/2-price Omaha Steaks burgers! It's also the final Ballpark Bingo Bash in the Hall of Fame Room. The day is also presented by 1110 KFAB.

Wednesday, August 25, 7:05 p.m.: The Royals open a key, five-game series vs. the division rival Iowa Cubs. It's Vietnam Veterans night: the 1st 5,000 fans will receive a miniature American Flag. Fans wearing anything patriotic will get a $5 Reserved seat ticket to the game. The night will also feature a pre-game DVD honoring veterans and in-game recognition of all service men and women. Plus, it's Subway Kids Eat Free Night: the 1st 100 kids 12-and-under receive a free personal Subway pizza and a Coke and all kids after that get a free hot dog and a Coke! Subway Kids Club members get in FREE. The night is also presented by Star 104.5, CW and Omaha Newspapers.

Thursday, August 26, 7:05 p.m.: It's Teacher Appreciation Night and Thirsty Thursday, when fans enjoy $1 beers and Cokes, courtesy of 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and The Reader! Teacher Appreciation Night is presented by Oriental Trading Company, who is giving away over $2,700 in back-to-school prizes. Friday, August 27, 7:05 p.m.: Aflac presents the Nebraska Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure © Night. Royals players will wear pink jerseys during the game, with all proceeds from a silent auction of those autographed jerseys going towards the fight against breast cancer. It's also the final Werner Enterprises Friday Fireworks night, with a post-game fireworks display! The night is also presented by KAT 103.7 FM, KETV and The Reader.

Saturday, August 28, 7:05 p.m.: It's Public Service Appreciation Night featuring post-game fireworks, presented by PayPal. Metro-area public service agencies such as police and fire departments will take part in a pre-game demonstration in front of the ballpark from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Anyone interested in donating tickets to public service men and women, please call Jason Kinney at 738-5104 or email him at jason.kinney@oroyals.com. Plus, it's the first of five straight days featuring a Garage Sale along the first base concourse. Be sure to pick up your favorite Rosenblatt or Royals memento. Sunday, August 29, 1:35 p.m.: It's U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and balloon art. Subway Kids Club members get in FREE and following the game all kids are invited to run the bases with Casey, presented by Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Also, the 1st 100 kids to sign up at the Nebraska Colon Cancer booth will get a FREE baseball and a memory of a lifetime as they will be able to play catch on the field for 30 minutes after the game. The day is also presented by KGBI 100.7 FM, Fox 42 and Family Spectrum Magazine.

Monday, August 30, 7:05 p.m.: The Royals open their final four-game home series vs. the Round Rock Express. Rotella's Italian Bakery presents $1 hot dog night - Hebrew National hot dogs are just a buck! It's also our "Kids Who Rock" party: lucky kids who have been selected by 89.7 The River will be recognized on the field during the game.

Tuesday, August 31, 7:05 p.m.: It's Valpak 2-Buck 2uesday. General Admission tickets are only 2 bucks! It's also KRAFT singles night: bring a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the Rosenblatt ticket office and buy one ticket to get one FREE from KRAFT singles! The night is also presented by CD 105.9, The CW and The Reader.

Wednesday, September 1, 7:05 p.m.: It's Fan Appreciation Night presented by Cox Communications. Season ticket holders will be honored on-field in a pre-game ceremony. Citizen Corps will kick off a campaign called "Are You Ready?" and will give away survival kits to fans. Plus, it's Subway Kids Eat Free Night: the 1st 100 kids 12-and-under receive a free personal Subway pizza and a Coke and all kids after that get a free hot dog and a Coke! Subway Kids Club members get in FREE. It's also the fifth and final day of the Garage Sale. The night is also presented by Star 104.5 and Omaha Newspapers.

Thursday, September 2, 7:05 p.m.: The final regular season professional baseball game in the history of Rosenblatt Stadium is presented by AT&T. A pre-game Fan Fest begins at 5:00 p.m. outside the ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the 1st 2,500 fans will receive a miniature Rosenblatt Stadium seat. The historic event will feature many past Royals players, local and state government officials, honored dignitaries and post-game fireworks, courtesy of AT&T. Plus, it's Thirsty Thursday, when fans enjoy $1 beers and Cokes. The night is also presented by Clear Channel.
