
Famous San Diego Chicken Returns to the Cove August 12

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Famous San Diego Chicken will entertain fans at Coveleski Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 12 when the South Bend Silver Hawks take on the Great Lakes Loons at 7:00 p.m.
The game will also feature a special Thursday night fireworks show afterward to make up for the one rained out on July 23.
The Famous Chicken has been entertaining fans, athletes, musicians, and politicians, among many others, for more than 30 years.
He is known for his crazy antics, as he performs various skits in between innings and during the game.
The Sporting News deemed The Chicken one of the 100 most powerful people in sports for the 20th century.
Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs from The Chicken following the game, which is also a Thirsty Thursday sponsored by Pepsi and 103.9 The Bear. Draft beers and Pepsi products can be purchased for $1 each.
Gates for the contest will open at 6:00 p.m.
The Famous Chicken's appearance is sponsored by Pepsi and WNDU-TV.
Additionally, 1st Source Bank presents the post game fireworks show.
The Silver Hawks are in the midst of a three-game series in Fort Wayne against the TinCaps that concludes Friday night. The team will then return home for a brief three-game series against the Lake County Captains that begins Saturday, July 31 and concludes Monday, Aug. 2.
