Beloit Sky Carp News Release

A ninth inning rally by the Snappers fell just short Wednesday night as Beloit lost by a single run in a game that was close through its entirety.

Steven Liddle and Anderson Hidalgo gave the Snappers a 3-1 lead in the fourth with a pair of solo homeruns. The lead did not last not for long however, as The Loons tacked on three of their own in the top of the fifth with a homer by Angelo Songco off of Matt Tone. Tone was the pitcher of record for Beloit, falling to 2-4 on the year.

The teams traded punches the rest of the way, but the Snappers could never regain the lead. Each team scored one in the sixth, two in the seventh and one more in the ninth to give the final tally of 8-7 in favor of the Loons. The "Brody Trophy Player of the Game" goes to Steven Liddle. The Snappers outfielder has been hot of late and kept it up tonight going 3-5 with a solo home run. Liddle had four RBI and was in the thick of Beloit's scoring all night long.

Beloit will host the Loons again tomorrow with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00. The series finale will follow on Friday with fireworks after the game.
