MONTGOMERY, AL - The Southern League today announced that Chris Nowak has been named the Southern League Hitter of the Week for the period from May 31st-June 6th

The Biscuits utilityman entered the week with 2 HR and 8 RBI on the season; during the week, he hit 3 HR and collected 8 RBI, including a 2-HR, 5-RBI performance Monday in Mississippi. Nowak was 10-27 overall on the week, and raised his season average 26 points to .224.

West Tenn's Mauricio Robles took home the Pitcher of the Week honors.

The Biscuits sit at 31-24, and with 13 games remaining in the first half, 2.5 games behind the Jacksonville Suns. The Biscuits are in the midst of a five-game set with the Suns right now, and having split the first two games, will look for a series advantage from Riverwalk Monday night at 7:05.
