Pawtucket Red Sox News Release

Things looked pretty good early on Wednesday afternoon. The PawSox had a 9-3 lead with Michael Bowden on the mound. Things turned around in a hurry. With two outs in the fifth, Brian Myrow belted a grand slam to pull the Indians to within 2 runs. They'd score one in the sixth, and another pair in the ninth to edge the PawSox, 10-9. Fernando Cabrera (0-2), who had converted 25 consecutive save opportunities in a PawSox uniform allowed two to score and took the loss.

Bubba Bell had been instrumental in helping the PawSox get the lead. He had a pair of singles and 3 rbi. Pawtucket scored 4 runs in the second and 5 more in the third. The Indianapolis pitchers clamped down and didn't allow a single hit after the fourth inning, until Ryan Khoury singled in the ninth. Bell and Khoury had 2 hits each.

The PawSox (8-12) have dropped two straight and 7 of 12 at home. The series continues on Thursday night at 6:15 p.m. Daniel McCutchen (NR) faces Randor Bierd (2-1, 4.50).
