BlueClaws win over Greensboro

LAKEWOOD, NJ - In one big inning Saturday evening the BlueClaws scored more runs than they had in the previous two games combined en route to a 7-1 win at FirstEnergy Park.
Lakewood racked up six runs on three hits, two walks and two errors in the bottom of the second inning after scoring just four runs in the previous two games.
Greensboro starter Curtis Peterson (0-1) was chased after just 1.1 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks. At one point in the second Peterson walked in two runs with the bases loaded, throwing seven balls in a row.
Anthony Hewitt led the way offensively for the BlueClaws driving in two runs, while Jeremy Barnes went 2-for-3, scoring twice with two doubles.
BlueClaws starter Jonathan Pettibone (1-0) threw six solid innings, giving up just four hits and one run.
Tomorrow afternoon (1:05 pm start) Lakewood lefty Nick Hernandez (1-0 2.08) will look for his second win of the season against Matthew Montgomery (1-1 4.82).
