The Suns best scoring chance came in the third inning with Ryan Curry reaching on a fielder's choice, Wilson knocking a base hit to centerfield and Lorenzo Scott taking a hit by a pitch to load the bases. Tim Torres next flied out to right field before a Michael Stanton strikeout ended the inning.
West Tenn added a fifth inning run after Mike Wilson ignited a rally with a two-out walk. Two batters later, Guillermo Quiroz singled Wilson home for a 3-0 lead.
The Diamond Jaxx continued to score in the eighth inning, scoring two runs charged to reliever Todd Doolittle. After consecutive one-out singles, Doolittle left the game in favor of Adalberto Mendez. The right-hander then dealt two wild pitches to bring home both runners for a 5-0 West Tenn advantage.
In the ninth inning Alex Liddi drove in Wilson with a groundout for a 6-0 score.
