Opening night was just about perfect at McCoy Stadium. The PawSox pounded out 12 hits en route to a convincing 11-3 win over Rochester. Newcomers Daarnell McDonald and Tug Hulett combined for 7 hits and 8 runs batted in. McDonald went 4-5 with a home run, double and two singles. He had 5 rbi. Hulett chipped in with three hits and three runs knocked in. He homered as well. Angel Sanchez had 2 hits and a run batted in. Jorge Jimenez and Mark Wagner each added an rbi. Boof Bonser worked a solid 4 and a third innings for Pawtucket. The big righty allowed 3 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4. The bullpen was sensational. Joe Nelson (1-0) earned the win. Nelson was followed by Alan Embree, Chad Paronto and Robert Manuel. They combined to clamp down on the Wings.

The PawSox opened to a capacity crowd of 11,306. It was the fifth consecutive Opening Day win for the PawSox. The series continues on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Jeff Manship faces Adam Mills.
