A three run inning capped by a Seth Bynum two run homer put Syracuse in front. Both teams scored one run in the fourth and Syracuse led 4-2 through the next three innings.

In the top of the ninth, Lehigh Valley scored one run to break the tie. Heading to the bottom of the inning, Justin Maxwell grounded out to bring up Roger Bernadina. The Syracuse left fielder homered down the right field line to tie the game. Kevin Mench followed with a double. An intentional walk to Josh Whitesell put runners at first and second for Eric Bruntlett, who also walked. With the bases loaded, Pete Orr singled over the head of Dewayne Wise in centerfield to give Syracuse the walk off win.
