Bisons Showcase "What's New" At The Ballpark

The Buffalo Bisons will open the 125th season of professional baseball in Buffalo on Opening Day, Wednesday, April 14 against the Pawtucket Red Sox (3:05 p.m.). With the home opener just 13 days away, the team announced the new changes fans can expect when they visit Coca-Cola Field.

Revamped Concessions System

The Bisons have completely revamped all concessions at Coca-Cola Field to give fans more and faster ways to enjoy the great ballpark food that accompanies every baseball game. The team has added two new concession stands - the Third Base Bullpen (full service concession stand) and Chip's Carnival Corner (novelty snack shop) to the Coca-Cola Field lineup. The team has also installed gas equipment on the first base side of the ballpark for quicker, tastier treats. An additional 12 registers have been installed to give the team a 20% increase in points of sale. A new Soft Serve Ice Cream machine has been added to Stand 109 for a second location for fans to go to for a cool delight on a summer night.

"Third Base Bullpen" - New Full Service Concession Stand

In an effort to provide fans with more opportunities to find their favorite baseball foods faster, the Bisons will introduce the Third Base Bullpen - a new full service concession stand at section 117 on the third base side of Coca-Cole Field. This stand will feature ballpark staples such as hot dogs, Italian sausage, fried bologna, soft pretzels, French fries, beer and soft drinks. This gives fans another great location to grab a quick bite to eat and get back in their seats in time for the great Bisons action.

Chip's Carnival Corner is the New Sweet Spot

Located adjacent to the Swan St. Gate, Chip's Carnival Corner will make its debut in 2010. This new area will feature freshly made popcorn in a collectable plastic logo bucket. Chip's Carnival Corner will also sell cotton candy, chocolates, licorice, Coca-Cola products and more. For those steamy summer nights, fans will also be able to cool down with novelty ice cream sandwiches, cones and bites.

Pizza Delivered Right to You

Bisons fans will see a new ballpark character at Coca-Cola Field this summer. "Luigi" has joined the Bisons team, but instead of delivering fast balls or clutch hits, this player will be brining Personal Pizzas right to your seat. The new vending character will feature cheese and cheese and pepperoni pies made for one.

New Concession Items

While there's more places to get your food, there's also more on the menu to choose from. The popular B-NY Deli stand has added a Pulled Pork Sandwich and a Chicken Sandwich, each offered with BBQ sauce or Weber's honey mustard. The Bisons Wing Stand at Section 122 will now offer Fried Green Beans with cucumber wasabi dipping sauce, Fried Pickles and Sweet Potato Fries with a honey butter dipping sauce.

Pettibones Grille Also Steps to the Plate

The home for great food at the ballpark, Pettibones Grille has added to their hall of fame lineup for 2010. Some of the new quick hitters include Buffalo 'Jack & Blue' Cheese Sticks and Beef Sliders to start your meal off right. Buffalo Style Chicken Raviolis will be served in alfredo sauce and infused with Frank's hot sauce for a meal with some definite bite. For entrees, the Chicken Napoleon features sautéed chicken strips in a brandy cream sauce mixed with penne pasta, red peppers, spinach, caramelized onions, garlic and parmesan cheese. The Veal or Chicken a Paolo are both served in cognac sauce with julienned peppers and slivered almonds.

Pettibones Grille is open throughout all home games and for lunch, Tuesday-Friday (11:30 am-2:00 pm)

Bisons Coverage Expand Online and on Your TV

Bisons.com is Brand New

The official online home of the Bisons, Bisons.com has been revamped for the 2010 season. Bisons.com is the home for everything Bisons, including Exclusive Video/Audio Features, Highlights, Ticket Offers and more. The website's homepage now features several ways to "Connect with the Club," including exclusive offers, contests and specials on the Bisons Twitter page, Facebook Fan Page and official online newsletter, 'Herd.On.Line.' Daily game notes will be posted on "The Dish" Blog and the Online Shop will feature great Auction Items for one-in-a-lifetime experiences like ceremonial first pitches, bat boy/bat girl opportunities and meet n' greets. Of course, Bisons.com will continue to feature LIVE webcasts of all home games and select road games, while pitch-by-pitch updates and LIVE audio will be available for FREE for all 144 games in 2010.

Bisons Baseball is on the Air

The Bisons have teamed up with Time Warner Cable to expand the team's television schedule. Time Warner Cable SportsNet 13 will feature the LIVE broadcast of 45 Bisons Games in 2010, a nine-game increase from 2009. Each one of those broadcasts will also be available On Demand on channel 946. Additionally, five Bisons games will be featured on SNY SportsNet New York, the official television home of the New York Mets, Jets and Big East Conference. Sheinis Added to Broadcast Team

The Bisons have added Justin Sheinis to their broadcasting team. Sheinis will join "The Voice of the Bisons" Ben Wagner and long time color analyst Duke McGuire on various broadcasts throughout the 2010 season. A graduate of the University of Miami, Sheinis worked for WVUM-FM as well as UMTV and his broadcast experience includes UM baseball, basketball, football and volleyball. He had the opportunity to travel to Omaha, NE to cover the 'Canes 2008 College World Series appearance and has also covered ACC men's and women's basketball tournaments.

Give Dad a Gift - Father's Day Pack

The Bisons are home on Father's Day this season, Sunday, June 20 against the Indianapolis Indians (1:05 p.m.). The team is now offering a Father's Day 4-Pack that is the ideal gift for dad. Four reserved seat tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and one ballpark replica (of Dad's choice, of course) is available for only $60. At the game, dad can also pick up a Logo Baseball Giveaway. When the game is over, take your father down onto the field for Play Catch with Dad. The Father's Day 4-Pack is available now at Bisons.com.

So Many Great Events, Promotions and Giveaways

The Bisons have added several great events to their 2010 events schedule. Be sure to pick up you Bisons Road Jersey on July 31 and your Buffalo Central Terminal Replicas, presented by Hamburg Overhead Door & LiftMaster, on August 5. The 3rd Annual Mystery Ball fundraising event on August 7 will give fans the opportunity to take home an autographed baseball from someone in the sports world. Make sure you come hungry for Dollar Dog Night on May 17 but make sure you're on the right side in the battle of good and evil on Star Wars Night with Character Appearance on June 12.

Other Ballpark Additions

New Alternate Game Cap

The Bisons will introduce a second Alternate Game Cap in 2010. Worn by the team for various home and road games, this New Era blue cap with black rim features the charging bison inside a baseball. The baseball will be stitched in Bisons' blue while the bison will feature the same orange highlights as the Herd's primary logo. The new alternate game cap will be available to fans in the team's gift shops.

Get the New Gear at Bisons Gift Shops

A redesigned Batter's Box Gift Shop, Character Clubhouse and New Era Gift Shop will feature several new items in 2010. New Bisons Team Jackets in the gift shop will be the exact same jacket worn by the Bisons players. Bisons' blue, the jacket is water and wind resistant and features the Herd's home jersey logo on the front chest. The black Majestic Hooded Sweatshirt is a fleeced lined black hoodie that you see major league teams wear all the time. A new line of Dual Logo T-Shirts will feature both the Mets and Bisons logos on it.

Family Restrooms Installed

Coca-Cola Field will now feature family restrooms at section 115 (third base side) and section 116 (first base side) on the main concourse. Each family restroom is equipped with a changing table and is able to serve physically challenged patrons.
