
Hitmen beat Rebels 4-2

Red Deer, AB - Brandon Kozun and Matt MacKenzie both had three assists as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Rebels 4-2 in Red Deer Friday night.
After falling behind 1-0 just over seven minutes into the first period the Hitmen scored four unanswered goals en route to victory.
Ian Schultz with his 20th, Kris Foucault his 17th, Tyler Shattock his 27th and Joel Broda with his team leading 32nd all scored for Calgary.
Shattock's goal made it 3-1 Hitmen early in the second period and was a key turning point. It was scored on a shorthanded breakaway with the Rebels on the powerplay looking for the tying goal.
Final shots were 32-30 Hitmen.
Calgary is now 44-17-1-2. They lead the Central Division by eight points over Kootenay, but trail Saskatoon by two points for number one overall.
The Hitmen are back in action tonight at home against the Kelowna Rockets. It's the Calgary Stampede, Trico Homes, Carma Developers Lunar Celebration Game in recognition of Chinese New Year.
As part of the festivities fans will enjoy lion and dragon dances, performances from Bishop McNally and St. Mary's High School Bands, post-game fireworks, and fortune cookies. There are over 300 fortune cookie prizes to be won including a $1,500 gift card from Canada Safeway.
In addition, Hitmen fans can support families in need by donating their unused skates. A donation bin will be placed on the concourse at section 211 with every pair going to Hockey Calgary.
Game time is 7pm at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
