Panthers Call For Repik

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled forward Michal Repik.

The recall is the fourth of the season for Repik, who will join the Panthers this evening to compete in tonight's National Hockey League contest against the Montreal Canadiens. Faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center.

A native of Vlasim, Czech Republic, the 21 year old has skated in nine games with the Panthers this season, scoring two goals and one assist for three points. In 14 career NHL games with Florida, Repik has recorded five points (4+1) and eight penalty minutes.

In 37 American Hockey League contests with the Amerks, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward has registered 32 points (16+16) along with 35 penalty minutes. The second-year pro currently is fourth overall on the team in scoring, while his 16 goals are second best.

Florida's second-round selection (40th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Repik has goals in five of his last six outings with Rochester and has seven points (6+1) in as many games.

The Amerks conclude their four-game homestand on Friday, January 29th as the East Division Albany River Rats journey west down the New York State thruway to The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the third of four scheduled meetings between the interstate rivals and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Channel 98.
