OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers in conjunction with the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that Lancers' forward Matt White has been named Reebok Offensive Player of the Week for Week 6 of the 2009-2010 season. It's the third time this season an Omaha Lancer has been recognized with a weekly USHL honor after Jeff Teglia was twice named USHL Goaltender of the Week.

The third-year Lancers forward seemed a lock for the weekly distinction after posting nine points in three Omaha victories over the weekend. White's productive weekend began Friday with two goals (including the game-winner) and three assists in Omaha's 7-4 victory over the visiting Waterloo Black Hawks. Then, after tallying an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win in Sioux City, White closed his brilliant week of play with another goal and two more assists as the Lancers blanked the Indiana Ice 6-0 on Sunday. In addition to his nine points, the Whittier, California native also posted a +6 rating over the weekend while registering 19 shots on goal. White currently holds the USHL's longest point streak after tallying points in each of his last eight games over overall. The USHL's leading scorer has also recorded at least one assist in each of his last eight contests as well.

The Lancers (11-1, 22 Pts.) remain atop both the West Division and USHL standings and have now reeled off eight consecutive wins. Omaha is back in action this Wednesday evening when they head to Kearney, Nebraska to take on the Tri-City Storm.
