White, Palmquist, And Racine Earn Weekly USHL Honors

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League today announced the weekly award winners for the sixth week of the 2009-10 USHL regular season.
Congratulations to Matt White of the Omaha Lancers, named Reebok Offensive Player of the Week; Zach Palmquist of the Waterloo Black Hawks, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Steven Racine of the Waterloo Black Hawks, who earned honors as the USHL Goaltender of the Week.
White registered nine points (3g, 6a) and a plus-six rating as the Lancers won all three games over the weekend, which extends their winning streak to a League best eight games. The native of Whittier, California tallied two goals, including the game-winner, plus added three assists for a five-point night in Friday's 7-4 victory over Waterloo. White dished out one assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout victory against Sioux City, and then extended his League-leading point streak to eight games with a three-point game (1g, 2a) in Sunday's 6-0 win vs. Indiana. The 20-year-old forward has taken over the USHL scoring lead with 19 points (6g, 13a) and has registered a League best plus-13 rating.
Palmquist recorded four points (2g, 2a) and plus-two rating as the Black Hawks earned a split in two games during the weekend. The South St. Paul, Minnesota native scored two goals in Friday's 7-4 loss to Omaha. The 18-year-old defenseman then earned assists on the first two goals of the game in Saturday's 7-0 victory against Lincoln. He is third on the Black Hawks in scoring with 10 points (3g, 7a) in nine games. Palmquist is in his second USHL season after recording three assists in 12 games during the 2008-09 campaign.
Racine joined the Black Hawks on Friday after being acquired in a trade from Lincoln. Later that evening, the 18-year-old made his debut for the club stopping 18 shots in a relief appearance as the Black Hawks lost 7-4 to Omaha. The following night, the native of Williamsville, New York collected his first USHL win in grand fashion by stopping all 28 shots against his former club as Waterloo shutout the Lincoln Stars 7-0. In addition to his shutout, the netminder also dished out two assists in the victory.
