Tigers Help Hospice Palliative Care Society

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Regional Hospice Palliative Care Society has a little more cash in their coffers thanks to the Medicine Hat Tigers.

The Hospice Palliative Care Society was the beneficiary of all ticket and 50/50 revenue from the charity exhibition game last Saturday night held between the Tigers and Swift Current Broncos.

A total of $13,833.00 was raised to help kick off fund raising efforts for the society's dream of building a hospice in Medicine Hat.

"We are thrilled to be able to contribution to this very worthy cause," said Dave Andjelic, Tigers' director of marketing and public relations.

"Our fans are the ones who made this donation possible with their attendance at the exhibition game. We would like to sincerely thank all those who came out to the game to support their community and enjoy their first look at the Tigers this season," stated Andjelic.

"On behalf of the Hospice Palliative Care Society, I would sincerely like to thank the Medicine Hat Tigers for this donation to our Society," said Jan Dynes, chair, Hospice Palliative Care Society.

"Hospice Palliative Care is for anyone facing life-threatening illness. Being able to live fully until the very end of life, with dignity and in comfort, surrounded by a circle of support is the goal of Hospice.

We would like to thank the loyal fans, our volunteers and the corporate sponsors who along with the Tigers made this event very successful.

A formal cheque presentation will take place prior to the Tiger's home opener on Saturday night when the Lethbridge Hurricanes visit The Arena to open the Tiger's 40th season in the WHL.
