The Kansas City Wizards announced Tuesday that the club has acquired striker Kei Kamara from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for striker Abe Thompson and allocation money. Kamara, 25, has scored a career-high five goals this season for Houston, including three game-winning goals. Kamara scored the game's lone goal July 4 as Houston defeated the Wizards 1-0 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Kamara then scored a pair of goals in 17 games (four starts) for Columbus in 2007 before joining the expansion San Jose Earthquakes in 2008.

He finished the season with another two goals and two assists for the Dynamo. Kamara has played in 22 games this season for Houston, starting 20 matches. His five goals constitute a new career high. He has also contributed one assist.
